James Jean’s Fables farewell

James Jeans final cover

Legendary Eisner-award winning artist James Jean has just released images of the very last of his now famous Fables comic covers. Fables was the last-standing vestige of James’ illustration career, as he’s taken the personal decision to completely focus on his painting and self-directed art. A whole bunch of us will be incredibly sad that we probably won’t see any more of his stunning artwork gracing the covers of comics and magazines, but lets not be too sad, as his paintings and artwork are taking his style in whole new exciting directions and are sure to establish him as one of the world’s foremost artists.

We were very lucky to interview him for Thunder Chunky, quite a while back now… and you can re-read the interview here, and see exactly why we’re such big fans!! You can also see a whole bunch of his sketches for the final Fables cover over on his Process Recess blog. James Jean, we salute you!
