Tony Hart

Anyone involved in the design industry who grew up in the UK will have a very fond place in their heart for Tony Hart, and will be greatly saddened by the news that he has just passed away. As one of the very first children’s tv artists, he inspired generation after generation of budding creators to pick up a pen or paintbrush and do something useful with their time! At it’s peak, his teatime show Hartbeat had up to 5 million viewers and Hart would receive thousands of drawings from viewers each week, the best of which he’d pin up in his famous gallery (whose theme music is now legendary)! It was also on his show that we were all introduced to Aardman’s Morph character, who always had a bit of friendly banter with Hart. So, in honour of Tony, let’s all pick up a paint brush and do something creative today!
