inspiration: Andy Smith Blue Inks Competition

andy-smith-blue-inks-1

Andy Smith is back with some of his indelible typography, this time in the form of a silkscreened book called ‘Blue Inks’. As you may have guessed, the book is printed entirely in shades of blue, and tells the story of the day-to-day life of a colour, including the daily struggle with long-standing enemies such as the yellows and the magentas! The books are hand-printed by Andy himself and we’re lucky enough to have to book+poster sets to give away!! Here’s what you have to do…

“Tell us what you would do with a load of #blueinks”

inspiration: TC Xmas Selection Box (No. 1)

TC xmas selection box 1

As I’m sure you’re all aware by now, the xmas project has launched for 2008, and each time we put together a new box of things to give away we’ll do a little post on here to tell you about it. So what does the first box have in it?

Well, Ben the Illustrator has chipped in with a whole set of signed World Lovin’ posters and a hand-drawn Speakerdog doodle; Al Heighton has thrown in a set of postcards and a fold out poster; Andy Smith has contributed a girls “Prepare to Meet Thy Doom” t-shirt and some small prints; we’ve chucked the TC Print Project in and some of Stephen’s cards and stickers; Kenn Munk added a large format DIY paper toy poster; and last but not least, Graphic Airlines (all the way from Hong Kong!) sent us a cool plush, a Step by Step tshirt and a sticker set.

So as you can see there’s loads of great stuff, all for one lucky person! And there will be more from Ben, Andy, Kenn and GAL in future boxes. If you’ve like a chance to win then go to…

Hi Tide

Hot on the heels of us posting about Andy Smith’s new typography prints, Andy was kind enough to send TC a copy of his book The Hi Tide by snail mail! It’s hand screenprinted and is a limited run of 100 copies. The way Andy makes illustrations using minimal colours and resources is really inspiring and his book is a perfect example. If you’d like to get yourself a copy then grab one from his shop before they’re all gone! Quick! Thanks Andy.
