eBoy Blockbob Eater

For a whole lotta years now, eBoy have occupied the position of pixel-art masters amongst the design world. And even to this day are still producing huge scale pixel artwork such as their work for Coke in Dublin recently. Not so long ago they took the big step of bringing out their own range of Peecol vinyl toys, but now they’ve gone a step further and brought out the rather snazzy looking Blockbob Eater, made out of Swiss maple wood and limited to just 75 pieces!

inspiration: Ahoy There

Ahoy there

None of us here at TC are strangers to the difficulties of cracking into the creative industry, so it’s always refreshing to see new talent stomping its way on to our screens. Ahoy There is a collaborative venture from fellow graduates, David Souch and Ross Crawford. Having both been awarded ‘Best New Blood’ at the 2008 D&AD student awards, they have gained exposure in a number of top publications. They’ve also spent a bit of time working with long-time TC pal, McFaul!

inspiration: Infectious car art

Custom car vinyls

We were dropped a line today to point us in the direction of Infectious, who specialise in vinyl stickers for cars. Normally, that wouldn’t particularly inspire us, but these guys have brought in a bunch of really great illustrators to create the graphics for the vinyls. To name but a few, there’s Ben The Illustrator, Burgerman, Andy Smith, Dalek, Si Scott, Tara McPherson… the list goes on and on. They’re moving into laptop art and wall art in the near future as well, so worth keeping an eye on!

interview with KUANTH

Kuanth

Everyone makes mistakes. Every artist, designer, every human being does. We all do, but according to Kuanth, mistakes are a good thing, and I have to agree with him completely. “…perfection is boring, and mistakes can be beautiful…” they keep things interesting, unpredictable, exciting. So please enjoy the following interview, it is probably full of mistakes by me… but hopefully still fun, with a human touch and insightful into the ideas from Kuanth…

inspiration: Drawing Blood

Hint mag

Our new friend from Singapore, the talented Kuanth sent us an interesting interactive/animation last month. Collective, Render Monkey, blends Kuanth’s weird/surreal illustrations with funky, electronic, pop music by Munk and Annie perfectly. The work is for the online fashion site ‘Hintmag’, a beautifully designed place for all you fashion junkies out there. Sorry it took so long to post, definitely worth checking out…
