The day is nearly upon us. The day we go to ‘Play’. Come join in the fun and be inspired by the imaginations of 40+ artists, their interpretations of the theme ‘Play’ for this fantastic Inkygoodness Exhibition.

I was down there yesterday (delivering my artwork – yes, I’m also participating) and the East gallery is literally overflowing with new and eye popping wonders. There’s so much work that the organisers are having trouble fitting everything in, trying to cleverly use up every part of available wall space.

The super talented McBess was also down at the gallery covering the entrance wall with a Gigantic masterpiece. It was quite breathtaking to see him work, and actually shake hands with such a great man.

So what else is there to say. Come and see it with your own eyes. It’s going to be one of the biggest exhibitions of this year.

“…Are you an aspiring designer? Would you like to see your very own design as a permanent fixture in one of Liverpool’s finest bars AND win a pair of tickets to this year’s T in the Park festival?…”

Red Bull are offering you the chance to design a bespoke fridge as part of Liverpool Sound City. The designs should be based around the theme of Sound City, Liverpool and Music theme, however all variations and interpretations of this are welcome.

A panel of judges from Red Bull and Liverpool Sound City will select the winning 6 designs which will then be turned into physical fridges and displayed throughout the Sound City festival as part of the Screenadelica exhibition in the old Rapid Building, before finding a permanent home in a local bar.

Swig a few Redbull’s and start designing because all entry’s should be sent to nick@liverpoolsoundcity.co.uk no later than Friday 7th May.

This is a rare opportunity to see and possible own such amazing and limited edition pieces of art from such a wide variety of artists and styles.

Curated by TC-buddy Ollie Munden and Jonny McCulloch, Brighton Freakshow brings together the cream of the illustration crop in Brighton as part of the 2010 Open House Festival.

Ok, I don’t know about you, but I’ve always wanted to see an exhibition which revolves around this inspiring theme. So I was super excited when I heard the news that Steve Rack will be displaying his Toe Fluff to the world, but that’s not all, he also invited his friends to display their toe fluff too. Sounds good, right? I never imagined that there can be so many different types, different shapes and sizes, seriously beautiful stuff. And, of course I wouldn’t miss this opportunity to reveal my own fluff, but that will take some time to prepare.

With the eagerly anticipated South African World Cup imminent, how better to celebrate it than have a football themed design contest! New Web Pick is asking you all to design a unique football to support your favourite country!

There is a ton of prize money up for grabs too… one lucky grand prize winner will win $1000(US), a staggering 32 runner ups will receive $150(US) for the best design for each country, and $200(US) for the public’s favourite.

…and we have a WINNER*…design exhibition ‘Life in 2050′, created by design studio ‘Transmission’ launched their competition a while back, and after about a month or intense judging, the results are released.

The Winner (Above-top) is by AS1 Projects, with a stunningly realistic photographic representation of the future, and Runner-up (Above-bottom) Dan Jones, with an minimalistic illustration of the earth which seems to be completely enveloped by a mass of blue.
