Coming at ya from Mexico this morning, we bring you the supremely talented and colourful Mr Kone! The creation of illustrator C?©sar Evangelista Bautista, we’d like to congratulate him on hitting a big milestone… 10 years in the industry! With a client list to die for, including MTV, Coca-Cola, Sony-BMG, Universal Music, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Adidas, Mini Cooper… we hope he’s going to be churning out brilliant work for many more years to come! What really caught our eye though? His mashed-up Spongebob illustration for Nickelodeon! Who can resist a surreal Spongebob?? He’s got a really neat, clean site as well, so go check it out.

MTV Fauna are a collection of creatures which appear on MTV in Canada as part of the network’s unique branding. They were created by internationally-acclaimed illustrator Nathan Jurevicius, the man behind the Scarygirl empire, and they’ve recently been transformed into a limited edition set of vinyl figures. They can be bought online and at a handful of exclusive stores. More info can be found at mtv.ca/fauna. We thought we’d track down Nathan and find out a bit more about the project.

A few months back, MTV held an event in Milan where some of the world’s top artists were asked to customise hand-made resin MTV characters. Jeremyville, Rinzen, Furi Furi, Tado, tokidoki, Mauro Gatti, Yo Clas, Andy and BUGO all contributed. We managed to catch up with some of them for some extra info.
