Money makes the world go round, we need it to survive our day to day lives and cover our basic necessities. It gives us the power to make the lives of our families better, but it is also the thing which makes us lie, cheat and steal.
Our good friend Kenn Munk has set up this clever little exhibition piece, bridging the gap between art and design, exploring our never ending need for ‘more money’. This low tech money printing station allows you to print as much money as you want, then pay whatever amount you feel it is worth. Kenn even expects people to leave sweet wrappers and other bits of rubbish in the safe box, or even rob it, but this just further strengthens the meaning behind the art installation.
This money printing station is a part of Art Whino, Crystal City BID and Vornado’s G-40: The Summit, a month long (March 2010) exhibition and event series featuring over 800 artists from around the world.
“..Our mission is to bring you the largest body of work from innovators of the New Brow Art otherwise labeled Pop-Surrealism, Lowbrow and Urban Contemporary worldwide to one place. Our collection of artists has grown to 800 strong..” – Art Whino

As posted recently here on TC, designer-duo TADO have recently revealed their new range of products for classic sportswear brand Gola. And to mark the occassion, they had a launch event in Carnaby Street, London. We weren’t able to make in down south unfortunately, but luckily friend-of-TC Punkypickle did make it there and took some great snaps! We hear there were free Tado enamel badges, popcorn, candyfloss AND postcards. Great work guys!!

One day, in the early month of February at Thunder Chunky HQ, under a mountain of paper and magazines, next to the post-it notes and the Chuck Norris-isms book laid a small black square comic. Not just any comic, it was the McBess ‘Malevolent Melody’ comic.
“..Malevolent Melody – tells the story of a young McBess’s journey through forgotten melodies to find the ultimate source of his character’s amnesia..”
This awesome short story leads up to the unveiling of a Vinyl record at the back of the book. With a pen in one hand, and a guitar in the other, McBess blows our minds with his artwork, followed by the powerful sounds from his band, ‘The Dead Pirates’ (Watch the McBess Music Video).
Released last year Nov/Dec 2009, it’s McBess’s first comic, in collaboration with the freshest and hippest new publishers in town, Nobrow.

Bham! Tado are back with loads of fresh new work, and we’re in awe of what they’ve done for Gola! Having grown up in the UK in the 80s and 90s, Gola will always bring back fond memories, and the fact that Tado seem to have been given creative freedom to run riot is brilliant! Although this collection might be a bit bold for a lot of you folks, we have it on good authority from the guys themselves that the second Gola by Tado range is going to be aimed at an older age range, and be uber-wearable… sounds ace!
Check out the full range over on the Gola site and see loads of Tado’s latest work over on their agent’s site, Debut Publishing!

Any of you who follow us on Twitter will have seen us discussing this already, but for everyone else, we’ve finally launched our charity project, alongside Ben The Illustrator, which is called The Renmen Project.
Renmen in the Haitian word for love, and with the help of some top artists from around the globe, we’re aiming to raise a stack of much needed money for UNICEF’s Haiti Earthquake Children’s Appeal.
Straight off the bat we have a rare opportunity for you to buy one of 100 hand-drawn Ben The Illustrator pieces for just £10, with 100% of that money going to UNICEF. Get in there quick though as the drawings have been selling fast over the weekend!
That £10 can buy a Haitian family a much needed water kit
So go buy yourself a drawing, and please, please, please spread the word however you can – then fingers crossed we’ll make a little bit of a difference!
