inspiration: TC Time Capsule: Part 1

TC-TIMECAP-newgraphic

To mark the end of the Noughties decade we’ve decided to put together a time capsule of artwork to represent the last ten years. We’ve invited some of our favourite artists to hand-pick one piece of work they feel they would like to represent themselves and write a few words describing their choice. As you’ll see above, we have an all-singing, all-dancing interactive time capsule for you to enjoy, and we’ll be posting updates throughout the rest of December!

inspiration: Roger Chouinard meets Saks Fifth Avenue, NYC

duck-book-1

We’re still slightly early, but everyone is gearing up for the Christmas shopping sprees and you don’t get much more festive than the animated xmas window displays at Saks Fifth Avenue, New York. This year Saks approached Roger Chouinard, co-founder of Duck Studios to bring his creativity to the displays, and also, as shown here, the xmas book too. The outcome is pretty darn ace! Now all we need is a few Liverpool-to-New-York flight tickets to go see the display!! If you’re in New York this December though, it will be well worth a look! You can get more info over on the Trust Collective site.

There’s another of Kenn Munk’s paper toy templates. Ben The Illustrator was super-generous and has sent a second full set of World Lovin prints, signed and numbered! And a hand-drawn Speakerdog! And finally, Insolent Candy Floss donated another postcard and sticker set.

We’re down to our second-to-last box now and there’s only one more day left for you to get your name in the hit to win one of the boxes, so don’t miss out!

First up in this box is good ol’ Graphic Airlines again with a GA cap, tee and set of mini figures. We have to say a big thanks to those guys because they sent a treasure trove of cool stuff from Hong Kong, which is why they feature in almost every box! Then our very own Stephen Chan has put in a signed Don’t Panic poster, some postcards and stickers. Project Detonate sent in an ace tee and badge combo. A crayola coloured parcel arrived from Aaron Miller containing a framed pic, see-through business cards and a badge set. Kenn Munk returns as well with a super-awesome heavyweight toy, with detatchable head! Yupyland added in a signed print and very cute postcard set. And finally, Insolent Candy Floss donated some really neat postcards, and stickers.

So you know the score now, just sign up over at…

inspiration: Christmas by Colour now available!

The good guys at Raw Design have let us know that the Christmas By Colour posters and wrapping paper are now available to buy. CBC is essentially a xmas-themed Pantone-swatch mashup, where Raw invited designers and illustrators to invent xmas colours, along with a pantone colour. As you can see above the final outcome looks ace, and would be a smart addition to any studio!

You can get yourself a poster and wrapping paper for ¬£10 from the CBC shop, and to top it all off, all proceeds will be donated to C.A.L.M. So you’ll be doing something nice for xmas too!

inspiration: TC Xmas Selection Box (No. 3)

A day late with the post here so apologies for that, but here we are with info on the 3rd xmas box we’ve put together!

First in there this time is illustrator Jonathan Edwards, who sent us a bunch of cool cards as well as a Gocco print made with his own fair hands. Then we have TC xmas stalwart, the ever-brilliant Sam Gilbey, who chipped in with a lovely set of art postcards (with his previously-featured Flight of The Conchords work in!). Lunartik joined in the fun with loads of plug stickers, patches and magnets. As a real treat for you all, Luke Feldman, aka Skaffs, posted over a hand-painted piece of magnet art magic! From good ol’ Barcelona, character designer Charuca very kindly donated an awesome signed vinyl toy and t-shirt. UK illustrator Phil Corbett added in his funky Kitten Parasites book and some cards. TC regular and Edinburgh’s finest illustrator, Mr Boy Fitz Hammond chipped in with his Sound of Colour tee. Meni Tzima, aka Yupyland, sent us some signed printed and hand-drawn stickers all the way from Greece. And last but by no means least, EAMO sent us some some designer stubby-holders (bet you don’t have one of them!), all the way from Oz (pretty much the other side of the world)!

These boxes just keep getting bigger!! To get your mitts on it just go to…
