interview with Imperial Wolf Leather

imperial-wolf-1

If you’ve been following the recent action over at The Renmen Project, you’ll know that Imperial Wolf Leather (AKA Seth Daniels) has donated a one-of-a-kind leather chequebook / clutch purse for auction. The tan leather piece has been beautifully inscribed with a heart motif and the phrase “All you need… is love” which was famously coined by the Beatles. We were intrigued by the engraving / embossing technique so we caught up with Seth to ask him how he sets about creating a piece of unique leather art!

interview with PESKIMO

PESKIMO-RENMEN-LEAD

As I’m sure many of you are already aware, since January we here at TC, along with Ben The Illustrator, have been running a charity art project called The Renmen Project. The concept is simple… get great artists to create great artwork and sell it to help people in the most desperate of situations.

And we’re delighted to welcome the brilliant David and Jodie of Peskimo into the fold. The guys have produced some bespoke prints for the project and prior to their release at the end of the week, we thought you’d all find it interesting to see how they got made, from the artists themselves. So take it away guys…

It’s not often that someone comes up with an idea for a project which sounds great the moment you hear it… forty-five interviews with forty-five superheroes, illustrated by forty-five different artists. What more could you ask for?? That’s the essence of new hip graphic novel Forty-Five, and we caught up with it’s author Andi Ewington to get the full story.

interview with PESKIMO & TEASE MADE

peskimo-teasemade

To coincide with the opening of Start, a new art space in Bristol, designer duo Peskimo have teamed up with illustrator Chris Dickason to put on Tease Made, an exhibition inspired by the social rituals, history, iconography and biscuit dunking goodness of enjoying a cup of tea. The exhibition launches this Friday (19th March) and we snuck a few minutes with Peskimo to ask them about the event.

interview with MEOMI

meomi-lead-pic

We here at TC have been big fans of Meomi’s cute critters for a fair few years now, so we were chuffed to hear that they’d landed the contract to do the mascots for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games. And with only a year to go till the fuzzy fellas (including a Sasquatch!) launch the event, we thought it’d be great to sneak a chat with Vicki Wong – one half of the design super-duo!

interview with MARK HOLMES (PIXAR)

When you think about 3D animated movies, it’s easy to forget that they’re entirely man-made creations. From the characters, to the cities, to the weather, it’s all been thought up in somebody’s head. And add to that the huge impact of graphics. Every brand is thought up, every billboard, every poster, every interface. And Mark Holmes is a guy who’s had a big impact on a stack of these brilliant graphic treats!

Working on some of the big releases of the last few years, including Wall•E and The Incredibles, we were lucky enough to chat to him about just how important graphics can be!
