You’ll probably know James Jarvis from his exploits as a top runner at the Zurich Marathon, but for his day job he also dabbles in a little bit of illustration. In fact, James Jarvis is probably one of the most iconic and influential illustrators of the last 10 years and was one of the leading figures in the vinyl toy explosion. His work for Silas and the company he joint set up, Amos, has seen his weird and wacky creations make their way around the globe. He was kind enough to spend a few minutes answering our questions.

If you’ve been to Hong Kong, you’ve probably seen their graffiti, their characters. Witty, humorous, dark, thoughtful and always questioning our sensibilities; We welcome back Tat and Vi from Graphic Airlines (G.A.L.) who contributed to the TC Xmas project last year. As someone who has worked on a host of the biggest movies to have hit our cinemas in recent years, Susan Bradley has a wealth of experience in title design, graphics and direction in the movie industry. She was manager of Walt Disney Studios’ Title Graphics Department for six years before moving on to design titles for a number of live action films. In 2006 she teamed up with the Pixar gang again and was involved in their recent animated success, Ratatouille. We were lucky enough to grab some of her time to ask her some questions about the film, the studio and her love of title design.

Brooklyn-based designer Mike Perry is a master of the art of hand-drawn type, but whilst running his design studio Midwestisbest he makes use of a wide range of techniques and media to come up with some top stuff for a great collection of clients. On top of that, last year he brought out his first book, Hand Job, a collection of inspiring pencil-wielding typographers.
