Tiger Translate’s “Global Event” has finally set foot on the soils of England, having visited Shanghai, New York, Berlin, Dubai, to name just a few. Tiger Translate is the brainchild of Tiger Beer, providing a platform for relatively unknown, young Asian artists. Tiger has discovered over 150 multi-disciplinary creatives, ranging from music, art, graffiti, illustration, design, and photography, forming a collective known as the Tiger AKA’s (Asian Kinetic Artists). These Tiger AKA’s then get the chance to collaborate with internationally renowned creatives from around the world.

There’s so much to be excited about when you look at the Chinese Design Industry today. We are truly on the cusp of a design revolution, with cool kids such as Jellymon, rebellious stalwarts Graphic Airlines, legendary veteran designer Han Meilin and a whole host of other plucky expressive individuals and studios bashing out a plethora of stunning work, it would be rude not to see what’s happening out there. Series 5 of the ever so popular Speakerdog Papertoys has been released to the world recently. It is the largest collection of Speakerdogs to date, boasting an impressive array of 48 illustrators/designers, with 50 designs this time round. After the first 4 series, designers have seen the potential to modify the existing template further, creating more innovative and fantastical creatures of paper architecture.

John McFaul was on hand at Liverpool John Lennon Airport today to unveil a project which has been 9 months in the making for him and his crack team of designers. John had kindly invited us here at TC along to the bash, since we’re still based in his old neck of the woods, and we were more than happy to take him up on his offer.

Way back in January of this year, we here at Thunder Chunky decided that it was about time we ventured into the realm of print. After much throwing-around of ideas and a lot of umming and ahhing, we finally decided that our first project should be nice and simple. Our plan was to produce a set of prints which was evocative of what TC is all about… showcasing great artists, and getting an insight into how they think.
