Totoro Forest Project

Totoro Tree Project

For the last ten years or so, Anime-legend Hayao Miyazaki has been helping support the preservation of Sayama Forest in Tokyo. It was here that the concept for “My Neighbour Totoro” was hatched and is affectionately known as Totoro Forest by many. To help raise money to support the preservation, the Totoro Forest Project was launched, bringing in artists from around the world to create artwork which would be sold at auction. Above are the works contributed by Richard Vander Wende, James Jean and Robin Nishi. At the weekend they went up for auction and every last one of the 200 contributions sold and raised a whopping $200,000!! Even though the auction is now over you can still help by donating money via the Totoro Forest Project site. It will make you feel happy!
